What is Valve Radio?

A free radio station that plays around the clock. The spine of it is original Hindi film recordings from 1940 to today. Alongside that sit a Marathi shelf, from the tamasha pictures of the fifties to Sairat, an English Fun shelf of international pop, and a Desi Fusion shelf where the traditions meet. Press play once and it keeps going. No login, no app, no paywall. Every track streams through YouTube's embedded player, so artists and labels are paid for the play exactly as for any other view.

What is the Marathi shelf?

Marathi film songs as a section of their own: the Sangtye Aika and Pinjra lavanis, Sudhir Phadke, Anandghan, the Ashok Saraf and Laxmikant Berde comedies, Jait Re Jait, Natarang, Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, Sairat, Ved. It has its own singers, composers, moods and channels - Marathi Tadka, Lavani Baithak, Dhamaal Radio, Bhavgeet Hour. Switch to it with MR in the bar at the top, or open /lang/marathi/ directly.

Which decades does it cover?

All of them, from the 1940s to the 2020s. Saigal and Lata Mangeshkar at one end, Arijit Singh and Rema at the other. Filter by decade, singer, mood or room, and the filter applies without the music stopping.

Are the Hindi film songs the original recordings?

Yes, and only those, in every language on the site. No remixes, no jhankar beats, no unplugged sessions, no covers by other artists, no orchestral re-records, no live concert versions. A song we cannot find a real soundtrack upload for stays off the site rather than being approximated. Every song page has a link to report anything that slipped through.

What is Angrezi Zhatka?

The English Fun shelf: international pop played from the artists' own official channels. Shape of You, Counting Stars, Despacito, Taki Taki, Calm Down. Keep to the film rooms if you would rather not hear it, and it will never come up.

Do I have to keep clicking?

No. One tap starts the station and it plays continuously. If a track will not load, the next copy of the same recording starts automatically, and if all copies fail the station moves to the next song.

How do the eight rooms work?

Each is a place rather than a genre: the morning drive, the barber's chair, the lazy afternoon, the terrace at dusk, the mehfil, the late-night hour, the truck cabin at 2am and the wedding house. The station picks the right room from the clock on your own device. The rooms are Hindi film recordings only; the Marathi and English shelves have their own channels and never come up in a room.

Yes, and it stays free. If ads appear they sit below the player, never on top of it.
